New Month, New Energy 💫. I feel like September is the sweet spot of the year where everything starts slowly shifting to a close. I've amped up my day to day routine and I feel absolutely fantastic. Increasing your water intake, walking, stretching, taking daily vitamins, sticking to a strict AM/PM beauty routine, going to bed at a decent time, etc., are all crucial steps that should not be overlooked. The Lost Art of Getting Dressed Just To Go Somewhere ✨💃🏽

Somewhere between the pandemic and working from home more, getting dressed for the sake of just going somewhere quietly became a lost art. Not dressing for a Zoom call, the TikTok algorithm or a quick dash out the door, but getting ready because you’re actually going out...like in public. There was once something so nostalgic about it: a coffee run deserved an outfit, dinner with friends called for lip gloss and a shoe with personality and even a grocery trip could become a tiny exercise in personal style. I mean...this is also coming from the girl that wore heels 80% of the time her senior year in high school lol...so maybe I'm just biased. I just feel like I'm "on" when I take the time to put together an outfit and make myself feel presentable.

And maybe that’s the part that has been missed. Getting dressed can be a complete mood shift: the jeans that make you stand taller, the earrings you forgot you owned, the blouse that feels entirely too pretty for errands...and therefore exactly right. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with sweatpants (LOVE comfy moments) but there’s something great about making a little effort when no one is asking you to. Maybe the goal isn’t to dress up necessarily but to dress with intention again. Start by choosing one simple outfit detail (like earrings, lipstick or a favorite pair of shoes) that makes an ordinary outing feel special. Keep a few easy, comfortable looks ready to go so getting dressed feels fun rather than like a chore. At the end of the day, presenting yourself with intention can shift your mood, boost your confidence and help you experience the world feeling more like yourself.

The Current Woman's Identity "Crisis" 🪞💭

There is something very interesting happening in this chronically online era for young women at the moment. As a collective, we've all never had more freedom to become whoever TF we want, yet somehow, as a whole...we have never appeared more alike. Open Instagram, TikTok or just walk into a local coffee shop and the evidence is everywhere. The same slicked-back hair, the same Pilates set, the same gold hoops, the same carefully undone makeup. Even more so...there has even been a particular shift in personalities where everyone tries to act the same...which is...concerning to say the least. Same phrases stated over and over, referencing the comments in a social media post to see the opinions first and only then giving one, dressing as a carbon copy of your fave influencer/celeb, etc. And let me be clear...it's not that these things are inherently bad. The problem is what happens when individuality becomes another aesthetic to purchase, replicate and eventually sell back to ourselves?

For generations, women were told exactly who they were supposed to be: the wife, the mother, the friend, the career woman, the nice girl, the desirable girl. Today, the rules are subtler, but they have hardly disappeared. Now we are expected to be effortlessly successful, effortlessly beautiful, effortlessly healthy, effortlessly social, effortlessly mysterious...and somehow still completely authentic. The irony is definitely not lost. We are encouraged to “find ourselves” through algorithms that have already decided what we should like. Trends move so quickly that personal style barely has time to become personal. Before you've decided whether you actually like something, the internet has already declared it as "outdated". And so the current, modern identity crisis isn't necessarily about having no identity; it is about having too many versions of one available at all times.

I think one of the most empowering things we can do as women right now is become difficult to categorize...because we are inherently multifaceted. Wear the thing that doesn't photograph well. Like something and talk about it after the internet has declared it "cringe". Stop dressing for the algorithm, the male gaze, the group chat or the imagined woman you're supposed to be becoming. Because true style was never really about owning all of the right pieces...it was about having a point of view. And a point of view requires the one thing our hyper-curated culture seems determined to make uncomfortable: contradiction. You can be ambitious and soft, glamorous and practical, feminine and quirky, polished one day and completely chaotic the next...and guess what...that is exactly what makes you, YOU! Maybe the goal isn't to reinvent ourselves every six months. Maybe it's to finally ask, beneath all the trends and references and perfectly assembled identities: What do I actually like when nobody is telling me who I should be or what I should think?

Finance Chic Series ✨💵

We're back in week seven of my multiple part finance series. Continuing on with "Income & Side Hustles" this week’s topic will focus on Making Money Without a Boss.

TOPIC #7 - INCOME & SIDE HUSTLES: "MAKE MONEY WITHOUT A BOSS" 📈📉✨

There is something deeply euphoric about realizing you do not have to wait for someone to hand you an opportunity. Your first side hustle does not need a logo, a five-year plan or a perfectly curated Instagram grid...it needs audacity. The internet has quietly turned the traditional career ladder into a staircase with missing steps and women now have an extraordinary opportunity to build their own way up. Sell the clothes sitting untouched in your closet. Freelance the skill your friends are always asking you to do for free. Make digital products, consult on what you know, create content, style people, photograph, design, tutor, resell, organize, write. The point is not to become a “girlboss” who is permanently exhausted and answering emails at midnight (girl...we NEED our beauty sleep). The point is to understand that your income can have more than one door. A paycheck is one stream; your creativity, taste, knowledge, network and willingness to experiment can become others (emphasis on plural). And guess what the best part is? You get to decide what your work is worth. Start before you feel qualified. Do that one thing you've been avoiding scared. Cold email someone on Linkedin to start a convo and see if they have tips for your new business idea. Charge before you feel completely ready. Learn as you go. Because at the end of the day...the worst thing someone can tell you is "no"...and then you simply just move on to the next task.

And forget the fantasy that making money independently has to look like some Silicon Valley origin story. Sometimes the smartest business is hiding inside something you already do effortlessly. Maybe you have an obsessive eye for vintage fashion, a talent for making ordinary rooms look expensive, an uncanny ability to find the best restaurants when traveling or a knack for making everyone's résumé look better than before. I can not emphasize this enough: Your taste is an asset. Your perspective is an asset. Your time is an asset. The trick is learning to package what comes naturally to you into something other people find valuable. Think smaller, but think smarter: instead of asking, “What business should I start?” ask, “What problem could I solve effortlessly?” That shift changes everything. It takes the pressure off becoming an entrepreneur overnight and puts the focus on becoming resourceful. Build something on the side while you build yourself. Let it be imperfect. Let it evolve. Let one "little" income stream at first naturally become two, then three. The limit doest not exist. Financial freedom rarely arrives wearing a dramatic cape...it usually begins quietly, with a woman deciding she is capable of making money without waiting for permission. ✨💸👛

My Latest Comfort Obsession 🛌☁️

OMG you guys. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the SOFTEST blanket I have ever owned. Saying it feels like a literal cloud does not even do it justice for how soft and comfortable it actually is. I had seen ads for this particular blanket (COMRFT DREAMER BLANKET - SIZE LARGE) for awhile...and finally thought to order it since they are currently on sale for a great deal. It's definitely more high maintenance than other blankets I'm used to having (you can't just throw them in the dryer) but it is 100% worth it. I plan to get two smaller ones in the near future as well to stock up. I promise you will NOT regret getting one.
