Hey Everyone!
Welcome back to my newsletter 🗞
We did it! We made it through August eclipse season and the energy is all good vibes. I am FINALLY checking off each and every one of my own personal goals on my list. Everyday I'm making sure to practice what I "preach" and romanticize my current, present day and express gratitude for what I already have. I can absolutely feel the shift in the air and I KNOW this year has so many more blessings to come...and now I can say I am 100% ready to receive all of them. ✨💫
This week's edit features my Beauty Recommendations, 2026 Fall Fashion Trends, The Fashion Math That Somehow Works + much more! Enjoy 😘

Fall 2026 Fashion Trends: New Season, New Vibes 🧥👗👢
It's almost the best time of the year for fashion (imo)...fall fashion that is! I can not tell you how many lookbooks I've already put together in preparation for my YT, Fashion Blog, etc. return. There's just something about a structured coat, tailored pants, knee-high boots and a chic leather bag that just does it for me. Of course with every season there are also new fun trends to try. Luckily, most of these were popular back when I was in college back in 2011/2012, so I actually already have some items that can meet the mark. Feel free to make them your own and challenge yourself to embed a few into your everyday wear.
8 Fall 2026 Fashion Trends That Are About to Be Everywhere
1. Lace Details
Lace is moving beyond summer and lingerie-inspired looks. Expect lace-trimmed camis, romantic blouses, sheer layers and delicate lace details styled with everyday fall pieces.
2. Burgundy
Burgundy continues to dominate fall wardrobes (obvi). Look for deep cherry, oxblood, wine and burgundy shades across coats, leather pieces, bags, shoes, denim and accessories.
3. Brooches
Brooches are back as an easy statement accessory. Pin one onto a blazer, cardigan, coat, scarf or sweater for a vintage-inspired detail that makes even a basic outfit feel more styled.
4. Wide-Leg and Statement Denim
Denim is becoming more varied, with wide-leg, relaxed, straight and cigarette silhouettes all in rotation. Dark washes, colored denim, distressed finishes and embellished details are also making jeans feel less basic.
5. Daytime Partywear
Dressier pieces are being styled for everyday wear instead of being saved for special occasions. Think satin, sequins, sheer fabrics, sparkly skirts and embellished pieces paired with sweaters, jackets, denim or casual flats. It's super unexpected and a fun way to further develop your street style.
6. Leopard Print
Leopard print is still going strong (it's a neutral imo), but it's also becoming more wearable through smaller accessories. Think leopard shoes, belts, bags, scarves or a subtle printed piece paired with otherwise simple basics.
7. Preppy Style
Classic prep is getting a modern update with polos, rugby shirts, V-neck sweaters, button-downs, tailored trousers, loafers and varsity-inspired layers. The look feels more relaxed and fashion-forward than traditional school-uniform prep.
8. Oversized Bags
Bigger bags are replacing some of the tiny handbag obsessions from previous seasons (although I still love mine) Slouchy shoulder bags, roomy totes and structured top-handle styles are bringing back the idea of a bag that can actually hold all of your stuff.
The Fashion Math That Somehow Always Works 👠✖️💲
Fashion has its own form of mathematics, and somehow, the equation almost always adds up. The formula is simple: one statement piece + one classic + one unexpected detail = an outfit that looks effortlessly expensive. Think an oversized blazer with a tiny tank and ballet flats, a romantic lace skirt toughened up with a leather jacket or jeans so relaxed they practically look accidentally paired with an impossibly polished handbag. Then there’s the beloved third-piece rule: jeans and a tee are cute, but jeans, a tee and a great jacket? Suddenly you have an upgraded outfit. Fashion math is less about following rules and more about knowing which proportions, textures and contrasts make each other look better. The secret is contrast: masculine with more feminine pieces, oversized with tiny, casual with polished, minimal with one little something that adds that bit of extra. Consider it the stylish equivalent of algebra, except the only thing you’re solving for is how to look fabulous without looking like you tried too hard.
Then there is the most financially responsible piece of fashion math: cost per wear. The equation is simple; take the price of the item and divide it by how many times you realistically expect to wear it. A $300 leather jacket worn 30 times costs you $10 per wear; a $60 party top worn once costs you, well, $60. The trick is not automatically buying the cheaper option, but investing in pieces that genuinely fit your lifestyle and that can be styled multiple ways (another important reason to have an evergreen capsule wardrobe). That $200 pair of boots you wear with jeans, dresses, skirts and trousers? Excellent math. The $900 bag that lives beautifully in your closet because you’re scared to touch it? The math is currently mathing against you. In fashion, the real luxury is not simply owning something expensive...it’s getting your money’s worth every single time you wear it.
The Return of the Romantic Lip 💋💄
Let me tell you something...there is NOTHING I love more than throwing on a bold, red lip when I'm going out to a dinner, party, wedding, etc. Regardless of how I am feeling, I instantly become an even bolder version of myself (and that's saying something 👀 lol). The romantic lip is definitely having her comeback...and she is absolutely not interested in looking overly perfected. Think softly blurred berry, bitten cherry, rosy mauve and classic red, applied with just enough imperfection to feel lived-in rather than lacquered. The appeal is in the contrast: a pretty lip with undone hair, a cashmere sweater, bare skin or a little black dress that makes the whole look feel instantly more romantic. This season, it’s less about finding the perfect lipstick and more about creating that effortlessly flushed, slightly mysterious effect...like you’ve just finished a glass of wine, received a very interesting text and happened to look fabulous doing it.
Below are some of my fave options:
Are You Actually Happy or Just Very Good at Looking Like It? ✨☺️🙃
There is a particular pressure to make your younger years (20s/30s especially) look beautiful while you are still figuring out how to live them. The right apartment, the weekend trips, the Pilates classes, the dinner reservations, the perfectly timed photo...it can all begin to resemble evidence of a life well lived. Somewhere between documenting the moment and actually experiencing it, the line becomes surprisingly easy to lose.
Productivity has only complicated the performance. We are encouraged to turn every hour into an achievement: work harder, wake up at 5 am everyday (um...heck no) exercise earlier, answer every message, build the career, maintain the friendships and somehow remain effortlessly put together throughout it all. Social media rewards the appearance of momentum, making rest feel unproductive and ordinary days feel almost embarrassing. A curated life can be beautiful, but beauty is not the same thing as fulfillment.
It is crucial, every now and then, to take inventory of your life and take a second to ask yourself the real questions that will ultimately give you a gauge on where your true happiness lies. There is also the quieter voice beneath all the main noise...the one that knows when something is no longer right long before you are ready to admit it. Women are often taught to second-guess that knowing/intuition: to be grateful, to be agreeable, to make things work, to keep the plans, to keep the relationship, to keep performing the version of ourselves that everyone has already learned to recognize. But your inner life keeps its own kind of record. The exhaustion you cannot explain, the relief you feel when plans are canceled, the person you become around certain people, the dreams you keep postponing because they do not fit the life you have built...these are not inconveniences to ignore. They are information...data points. Sometimes becoming happier is less about adding something beautiful to your life and more about having the courage to listen when something inside you quietly says, "this isn't mine anymore".
Perhaps the more honest question is not whether your life looks good, but whether it feels good when nobody is watching. Happiness in your life at the moment may be quieter than the highlight reel suggests: an unphotographed dinner, a slow morning, changing your mind, leaving the party early or admitting that you do not have everything figured out...and that is not only okay, but expected. We are all doing this thing called life for the first time together. There is no "aesthetic" for becoming yourself...and perhaps that is the most beautiful part. Happiness is not always loud, exciting or easy to photograph; sometimes, it is simply the quiet feeling that your life belongs to you. Maybe the true definition of being happy is feeling at home in yourself, even when everything around you is still a work in progress.
Finance Chic Series ✨💵
We're back in week six of my multiple part finance series. Continuing on with "Income & Side Hustles" this week’s topic will focus on Turning Hobbies Into Income.
TOPIC #6 - INCOME & SIDE HUSTLES: "TURN HOBBIES INTO INCOME" 📈📉✨
Financial freedom does not always begin with a six-figure salary; sometimes, it begins with recognizing that something you already know how to do has value. A hobby can be more than something you enjoy after work...it can become a skill, service, product or a small business that creates an additional stream of income. The goal is not to monetize every moment of your life, but to thoughtfully identify where your interests and abilities intersect with something other people are willing to pay for.
Fashion offers an easy example. If you have an eye for styling, you could begin by helping friends build outfits for events, creating digital outfit guides, offering closet edits or sharing styling content online and eventually partnering with brands. Someone who already spends hours finding vintage pieces might turn that knowledge into a curated resale shop. The important distinction is moving from “I love doing this” to “I can solve a problem with this.” Your taste, creativity, organization and expertise may be more valuable than you realize.
Think about the things you already enjoy doing: baking, photography, writing, fitness, organizing, crafting, gardening, cooking, tutoring, pet care or even shopping can all become potential income streams when turned into a service or product. You could sell baked goods, photograph small events, create digital products (I have several available here), offer personal training, resell vintage finds or tutor a subject you know well. The key is recognizing where your everyday skills can solve a problem for someone else. Your hobby does not have to become a full-blown business overnight; sometimes the smartest side hustle starts as something you already love doing.
The chicest approach to a side hustle is to treat it like a business from the beginning. Start small, track what you earn, understand your expenses, set aside money for taxes (where applicable) and reinvest intentionally rather than spending every dollar of new income. Most importantly, give yourself permission to begin before everything looks polished. Financial independence is built through consistent decisions and sometimes the first step is simply taking something you already love seriously enough to see what it could become.✨💸👛
Current Watch - "Industry" on HBO Max ✨📺📊
So I have heard sooo many great things about this show "Industry" on HBO Max...and there is a black, female lead? SIGN ME UP! As a finance girlie myself (shoutout out U of H)...the idea of a show meshed with the aftermath of the 2008 financial crash (literally the year I graduated high school), spicy drama and being based in London was just too much of a perfect trifecta for me to pass up. I just started it this weekend and I think the final season comes out in 2027 so I'll be all caught up by then. So excited to have something new to binge!
