✨This Week's Chic Edit (Sep 28th) - The Kitten Heel Reinvention, Why Being "Chosen" Is No Longer the Ultimate Goal, Build a Dream Capsule Wardrobe + Much More

Hey Everyone!
Welcome back to my newsletter 🗞

Another week, another great time to catch up on the latest fashion shows. I've literally been obsessed with fashion since I was super young and visiting Milan/Lake Como in 2024 was an absolute dream. My mom, sister and I actually visited the top 4 fashion capitals all in one calendar year in 2024: Milan, Paris, London and New York (highly recommend). The fashion district, specifically, in Milan was full of historical architecture and you could just feel the rich ambience in the air.

Vogue actually premiered their "Vogue World - Milano" show last week and it was absolutely stunning; watch below.

Weekly Beauty Edit 💋💄

Build a Dream Capsule Wardrobe - One Piece At a Time ✨👗👖

A dream capsule wardrobe isn’t built overnight...it’s specifically curated one really good piece at a time. Think less impulse, more intention: the perfect blazer, the jeans that make everything look chic, the little black dress that never misses. Each addition should feel like YOU, effortlessly working with what you already own until your closet becomes a beautifully edited reflection of your own personal style.

I started a series on my Tiktok and IG to display the different categories that are necessary for achieving the ultimate dream capsule wardrobe. If you prefer to have everything in an easy to view eBook instead, feel free to grab "CHIC ESSENTIALS - THE CAPSULE WARDROBE".

The Kitten Heel Reinvention ✨👠

Look...idk where the heck all of this kitten heel hate came from...but I, for one, am a #1 stan of this particular style shoe. They give jeans, trousers, dresses, even the most basic everyday look that polished, pulled-together finish without the worry of if you might sprain your ankle while wearing them. Think coffee dates, office-to-dinner plans, art gallery openings, rooftop brunches, quick errands, date nights, weddings & those “I want to look dressed up but not too dressed up” moments. Now don't get me wrong...I will ALWAYS be a high heels girl through and through. I just needed to give kitten heels a fashion shoutout so they can be seen more as an equal opportunist for your future outfit selections...below are a few great, trendy options at the moment.

The Art of Making Your Home Feel Like a Place You Actually Want To Come Back To 🏡🖼

I've been curating my home decor selections since 2018 and I feel like I've finally gotten my current space to where it should be. For me personally, I prefer a more modern, trendy & elevated look since I am constantly filming/shooting content in my own space. A beautiful home isn’t necessarily the one with the most expensive furniture or the most perfectly styled shelves...it’s the one that makes you exhale the second you walk through the door and truly becomes your safe space. Think warm lighting, layered textures, a favorite candle burning in the background, fresh flowers on the counter (I like to utilize faux sets so it's less cleanup), and those little, special objects that tell your story. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s atmosphere. Your home should feel collected, personal & somewhat indulgent (after all...you're the one spending the most time there).

Think of decorating as setting the mood for your everyday life. A fluffy chair you actually want to curl up in, linens that make Sunday mornings feel slower, a beautifully styled coffee table that makes staying in feel like a plan...not a consolation prize. The most inviting spaces have personality and warmth, balancing beauty with the little luxuries that make ordinary moments feel special. Because the real flex isn’t just having a home space that photographs beautifully...it’s having one you genuinely can’t wait to come back to.

Why Being "Chosen" Is No Longer the Ultimate Goal ✨🦋

For a long time, being “chosen” was treated like the ultimate proof of our worth as women...the relationship, the friendship, the job offer, the invitation, the seat at the table. We were taught, sometimes subtly and sometimes loudly, to measure our desirability by who wanted us, who included us, who saw something in us worth keeping. But perhaps the more important question now is: Do I choose this? That shift feels especially meaningful in 2026, when so many of us are reconsidering what a fulfilling life actually looks like rather than simply following the blueprint we inherited. I am currently 36 years old - young, single, never engaged/married and have no kids while also being the happiest I've been...and I am loving that this has now become a "norm" in society. In fact, the American Psychological Association’s 2025 research found that 84% of people said they believe they can still create a good life even if it looks different from past generations. The point isn’t to stop wanting love, friendship, belonging, recognition or success...it’s to stop treating someone else’s decision to "choose you" as the final word on your value.

There is a quiet power in no longer auditioning for places that require you to abandon yourself to belong. In love, it can mean wanting reciprocity instead of simply wanting to be wanted; choosing the relationship because it feels aligned, not because finally being someone’s girlfriend/wife makes you feel validated. In friendship, it can mean valuing consistency, emotional safety and genuine connection over being part of the most popular circle or receiving the invitation everyone else seems to want. In your career, it can mean building a path around purpose, growth, financial stability and possibility rather than spending your life chasing approval, titles or someone else’s definition of success. And sometimes, choosing yourself looks much quieter: saying no to the opportunity that looks impressive on paper, leaving the room where you constantly feel like you have to prove yourself or giving yourself permission to change your mind about the life you once thought you wanted. The goal isn’t to become so independent that you need no one; it’s to create enough self-trust that connection becomes something you participate in...not something you beg to be granted.

The real glow-up is becoming discerning about who/what gets access to you, brave enough to leave what doesn't fit and confident enough to build a life that feels expansive even before anyone else validates it. You can still want the great love, the dream job, the loyal friendships, the invitations, the recognition, the beautiful apartment, the exciting opportunities...literally all of it. But you don't have to make your self worth dependent on whether those things arrive on someone else's timeline. There is something deeply liberating about realizing that your life is not a casting call and you are not waiting to be approved for the role of your own future. Sometimes the most empowering move is realizing you were always allowed to walk through the door yourself, choose what stays, choose what goes and become the woman whose life feels like hers...even before anyone else decides she belongs there.

Finance Chic Series ✨💵

We're back in week three of my multiple part finance series. Continuing on with "Saving Money" this week’s topic will focus on Romanticizing Security.

TOPIC #3 - SAVING MONEY: "ROMANTICIZING SECURITY" 📈📉✨

Maybe the ultimate soft life isn’t another package arriving at your door...it’s actually knowing your bills are paid, your savings account is growing and one unexpected expense doesn’t immediately send you into a spiral. Romanticizing security means making financial stability feel just as exciting as the things we’re usually encouraged to spend money on. It’s watching your savings hit a new milestone and feeling that little rush. It’s having a cushion because future-you deserves options. It’s realizing that peace of mind is, in fact, a luxury. There’s something incredibly chic about being the girl who can enjoy her life and knows she has her own back.

To be crystal clear...saving money doesn’t mean turning into someone who never leaves the house, wears the same outfit forever or says no to every little pastime. It’s about becoming more intentional with where your money goes. Maybe instead of buying five “almost right” sweaters this season, you save for the gorgeous wool coat you’ve been thinking about for months...the one you’ll wear for years and still love. Maybe you plan the girls’ dinner instead of ordering delivery three nights in a row. Maybe you create a little “fashion fund” specifically for those investment pieces that make your wardrobe feel elevated. There’s something very satisfying about wanting something, waiting for it, planning for it and then eventually buying it with money you already have. That purchase hits differently.

The real goal isn’t to become obsessed with saving or feeling guilty every time you spend. It’s to create a life where money gives you more freedom, not more anxiety. An emergency fund can mean you have the freedom to leave a situation that isn’t working for you. Savings can mean saying yes to a spontaneous trip without putting it on a credit card. A little financial breathing room can mean taking a career risk, moving into your dream apartment, helping someone you love or simply sleeping better at night. Romanticizing security is realizing that being financially comfortable is its own kind of luxury; the quiet kind, the grown-woman kind, the kind that lets you enjoy the cute shoes and know your future self is going to be very grateful you bought them responsibly. ✨💸👛

Local Food Spots Worth Trying - Houston, TX 🍕🍽

I will never stop showcasing the amazing, diverse melting pot that is Houston, TX. No, we don't get true weather seasons (hello...that's what vacations are for lol) but what we lack in that department we for sure make up in not only community but also AMAZING FOOD. I have so many restaurants that I have never tried so I literally added a calendar reminder for next year to try a new place every 2 weeks until I've gone through my entire list.

Below are some of my tried and true faves:
