✨This Week's Chic Edit (Oct 12th) - Newest Chic Brand Find, Top Beauty Recommendations, Automated Savings + Much More

Hey Everyone!
Welcome back to my newsletter 🗞

October has been an absolute whirlwind so far. The New Moon in Libra this past Saturday has brought in an emotional reset and more balance (which is much needed rn 😮‍💨). I'm forcing myself to get back into a strict routine this week to set myself up for success well before the new year. Remember...there is still PLENTY of time left in this year to accomplish a lot...you are NOT behind!

I'm slowly starting to see more progress in my digital business (LaChicCouture) which is super cool to witness. I have so many great content vids coming up to all platforms (including YouTube that I have been severely neglecting lol): Morning Skincare Routine, Collective Fashion Hauls (Zara, Mango, Coach, etc.), and an updated, in depth Fashion Closet Tour just to name a few. If you have any special requests for new vids, feel free to DM me on IG and let me know so I can add them to my growing list.

This week's edit features my Beauty Recommendations, Chic Office Dresses That Make You Look Powerful, Grieving Your Old Self +much more! Enjoy 😘

Chic Office Dresses That Make You Look Powerful (Without Looking Boring) 👗👑

Who says dressing up in Corporate has to be boring? The new workwear wardrobe is all about serving CEO energy with a fashion-editor twist...think structured midi dresses, cinched waists, smart/sleek shirt dresse & tailored silhouettes. Add a pointed-toe heel, a structured handbag and chic jewelry. Suddenly that boring Monday meeting now feels like your personal runway. The secret? Choosing pieces that mean business but still let your personality shine. Because looking powerful doesn’t mean playing it safe; it means dressing like the promotion is already yours.

Nobody Warns You About the Grief of Outgrowing Your Old Self ✨😐

Nobody really talks about the heartbreak that comes with becoming the woman you once prayed to be. We talk about growth like it’s all glowing skin, healed habits, higher standards and finally becoming "that girl"...but rarely do we talk about what it costs to get there. Sometimes, growth means looking back at the version of you who accepted less, stayed too long, over-explained herself or made herself smaller just to keep the peace. You realize she wasn’t weak or foolish; she was doing the best she could with what she knew at the time. And even when you’re proud of how far you’ve come, there’s a strange kind of grief in knowing you can’t go back to her, even for a moment. She got you here, but she isn’t meant to come with you everywhere. It can truly be mind-boggling.

The hardest part of outgrowing yourself is realizing that not everything you leave behind is bad. Sometimes, you outgrow friendships that once felt like home, dreams that used to give you direction, routines that once kept you safe and even the identity you spent years building. You can miss a person and still know they no longer belong in your next chapter. You can feel nostalgic for an old life without wanting it back. And you can love the version of yourself who survived a difficult season without continuing to live like you’re still in it. There is no betrayal in changing your mind, raising your standards or choosing peace over familiarity. Sometimes, the very things that once protected you become the things that prevent you from growing. Learning to release them doesn’t mean they never mattered; it means you’re finally allowing yourself to matter, too.

So if becoming someone new feels a little lonely lately, please know that you’re not doing it wrong. You’re standing in the in-between (the interim phase as I like to call it)...no longer the girl you were, but still getting acquainted with the woman you’re becoming. Give yourself grace here. You don’t have to have every lesson figured out, every boundary perfected or every next step mapped out to be proud of your progress. Growth isn’t always a grand reveal; sometimes, it’s the quiet decision not to return to what broke you, the courage to sit with discomfort instead of abandoning yourself or the realization that you no longer need to prove your worth to people who only understood the old you. Let yourself mourn what was, celebrate what is and stay curious/excited about what’s coming. You are allowed to miss your old self and still choose your new life.

Finance Chic Series ✨💵

We're back in week five of my multiple part finance series. Continuing on with "Saving Money" this week’s topic will focus on Automated Savings.

TOPIC #5 - SAVING MONEY: "AUTOMATED SAVINGS" 📈📉✨

Listen girl...let’s make saving money a lifestyle, not a monthly battle with your bank account mmk. The secret? Pay yourself first, automatically. Period, point blank, no excuses. Set up a recurring transfer from your checking account to savings for every payday, even if it’s just $20 or $50 to start. Treat it like a bill you owe to your future self, not money you’ll save if there’s anything left over. The beauty of automation is that you don’t have to rely on motivation and your money can grow quietly in the background while you live your life.

Here’s how to make it work without feeling restricted: create separate savings buckets for different goals: an emergency fund, your next trip, holiday gifts or that apartment you’ve been dreaming about. Start with an amount that feels realistic to you, schedule transfers for payday and increase them by $5–$10 whenever your income allows. Got a raise? Automate a portion of the increase before you get used to spending it. Received unexpected cash? Send a percentage straight to savings. And one golden rule: keep your emergency fund somewhere accessible, ideally in a separate, interest-bearing savings account, so it’s there when real life happens.

And because financial wellness should still feel fabulous, think of automated savings as the financial equivalent of building a timeless wardrobe. You wouldn’t spend your entire paycheck on one trendy handbag and leave nothing for the essentials, right? You’d plan for the investment piece, the everyday staples and the little luxuries. Give your money that same energy: cover your needs, save for your future and leave room for fun without the guilt. The ultimate rich-girl habit isn’t looking wealthy; it’s quietly building the freedom to choose your own life.✨💸👛

On My Radar ✨🎯

One thing about me...I am an inquisitive researcher/CIA agent 😂. I just love being "in the know" of random things and what's going on and / or upcoming...whether it's in regards to fashion, beauty, travel, culture, etc.

Here are some of the "on my radar" things to know:

  • John Summit is coming to Houston in November and I'm low-key thinking about going. He came up on my radar a few Coachella's ago after headlining and I realized just how much I enjoy EDM/Dance music...specficially his. He did a reverb/remix of "gas pedal" a few years back at the festival and I absolutely lost it and had to look him up. His story of leaving Corporate life (as a CPA at a big four accounting firm) and fully making his dreams happen is super inspirational. He now encompasses that journey into his music as an "escape the matrix" creative outlet and I am so here for it. He has a YT channel where he vlogs all of his adventures of DJing all over the world and you can also check him out on Spotify.
  • A new "East of Eden" series is out on Netflix and I am satttt. I vividly remember reading this book in high school and being like "wow...now THAT is a character (speaking of cathy 👀)". I recently purchased the hard cover book last year but don't feel like reading it again just yet...so going straight to the limited series to refresh my memory. And honestly...anything with Florence Pugh in it is usually elite.
  • e.l.f. has officially launched a new "POP" body and fragrance collection. One other thing about me...I LOVE finding a new scent for the daytime so I loved hearing about this. The current scents are true to the holiday era so I can't wait to go in store and sample these.
  • Now this one is super interesting...it was announced just a couple of weeks ago that Donatella Versace and Revolve will be creating a joint venture scheduled to launch in 2027. I love when luxury fashion houses blend in efforts with high street style brands. It will be available in United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Can't wait to see what unique fashion looks come out of this.
  • This one is super heartbreaking 💔...okay I'm being dramatic. The Louis Vuitton hotel that was originally set to open this year at the 103-111 Avenue des Champs-Élysées location in Paris is no longer happening. Bernard Arnault announced this in Q1 of this year stating that Louis Vuitton will focus on "being a fundamentally [great] leather goods and craftsmanship house". I remember seeing it being built up close on my first trip to Paris back in 2024 and even added it to my manifestation list (rumor was that a room a night was going to be somewhere around $10K+...which is literally insane). Now I will simply make plans to stop by the finished result (it will now just be a flagship and cultural destination) every time I go to Paris as an homage to what could have been...*le sigh*.
